Not to many exciting things are happening in the world of the Gentleman Adventurer at the moment except for the fact that the lovely Cat has finally joined me and this very weekend we boarded a bus with all our worldly belongings and moved to Cape Town.
Yes we are going to try and actually settle down, of sorts, and build ourselves a base. Currently, we are staying in a backpackers hostel but tomorrow evening we begin to sublet my mate Zeke’s place as he heads to London for a few months.
What’s the plan I hear you ask? Well Cat is desperate to find work with a non-profit and begin to put her hard earned education and desire to make a difference to the grindstone. If you know of anyone or any organisation she should get in touch with do drop me a line.
I have just finished the albino piece and we will be sending out our pitch to the various magazines and newspapers out there. Holding thumbs that someone will dig it enough to publish and pay. I do think it’s one of my better pieces and the images, courtesy of Ben Schilling (benschilling.com), are incredible.
I am already looking towards the next story and will at the same time be hoping to pick up some freelance writing work (all types welcome) here in Cape Town and South Africa at large.
It’s a big move for us and one we are excited and apprehensive about. We are giving ourselves a time schedule in which to make things work but at the same time have a worst case scenario disaster plan already in place.
Good luck Sean -
I am so thrilled and excited for you and Catherine! Finally together and eager to embark on your new life. It brings me back so very many years to when Alain & I started our “joint venture”, of which your “Cat” is one of our many, many blessings.
I wish you both every success, much excitement,
and happiness and most importantly, love!
All my love to you both,
xxxooo
